The CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace
aims to provide candidates with good understanding and knowledge of health and
safety. The qualification provides an introduction to health and safety and
focuses on eleven key areas:
Health and Safety Law
Health
Safety
Welfare
The Workplace and Workplace Equipment
Risk Assessment
Manual Handling
Hazardous Substances
Ergonomics and Workstation Design
Transport and Vehicles
Noise and Vibration.
The support materials focus on enabling candidates to
understand:
Health and safety requirements placed employers and
employees
Hazard and risk and the main causes of harm to workers
The importance of health and safety and following safe
systems of work, procedures and rules
The general hazards and controls in respect to both safety
and occupational health risks
How their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety.
Who needs this
qualification?
This qualification is designed to ensure that all employees are aware of their
own safety and the safety of customers, contractors and the public. It can be
used in any private or public sector environment and is made up of two three-hour training programmes or one six-hour training programme.
The assessment consists of two 15-MCQ examination papers or one 30-MCQ examination paper.
