This course covers the knowledge and practical skills required to be a first aider in any number of industries within the UK.
By the end of the course the
candidate will be able to:
Demonstrate they can act in a
safe, prompt and effective manner with regard to emergencies at work
Demonstrate that they are able to
use first aid equipment and complete simple records
Recognise a casualty suffering
from any of the above mentioned injuries/conditions, major and minor injuries
and take appropriate action
Describe the appropriate
transportation of a casualty as required by the circumstances of the workplace
Explain how to obtain further
medical assistance if required
Assessment will be by
multiple-choice, recapping on each session and the final theory assessment will
require the candidate to achieve a minimum of 15 correct answers from a
possible 20 prior to undertaking the practical examination.
The successful candidate will
receive an HSE approved certificate and pocket card/certificate which is valid
for three years.
