Health & Safety in Health and Social Care - Level 2
Based on the first part of the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace – an introduction to health and safety adapted for health and social care – and the CIEH Level 2 Award in Hygiene Awareness, the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in Health and Social Care aims to provide candidates with a good understanding and knowledge of health and safety in the health and social care sector.
The qualification provides an introduction to health and safety and focuses on eight key areas:
Health and Safety Law
The support materials focus on enabling candidates to understand:
Health and safety requirements placed on health and social care employers and employees.
Hazard and risk and the main causes of harm to patients / clients and employees.
The importance of health and safety and following safe systems of work, procedures and rules.
The general hazards and controls in respect to both safety and occupational health risks.
How their own actions can reduce risks to health and safety.
Who needs this Qualification?
This qualification is specifically designed to provide health and safety training for employees working in hospitals, nursing and care homes in the public and private sector.
Two three-hour training programmes or one six-hour training programme.
Two 15-MCQ examination papers or one 30-MCQ examination paper.
