Stress Awareness Course - Chartered Institute of Environmental Health

 

Aim

Stress has long been recognised as a significant workplace hazard.  This course will enable the candidate to gain a greater knowledge of the subject and practical steps that can be taken to reduce the risk.

 

Objective

 
By the end of the course the candidate will be able to:
  • Explain what is meant by the term stress and in particular work-related stress 
  • Explain the importance of controlling stress in the workplace
  • Give examples of the typical stress related factors in the workplace
  • Identify the likely signs of stress in colleagues and themselves
  • Advise on and implement basic controls in the workplace to reduce stress
  • Monitor colleagues and themselves in relation to stress at work
  • Complete a self-assessment

There is no formal examination.  To gain a certificate accredited to The Chartered Institute of Environmental Health, candidates will need to complete a self-evaluation.
