Information bite 216: Covid 19 Latest Update

Covid19 is spreading fast and cases of infection are rising rapidly. The government’s latest advice is to stay at home.

If it’s not possible to work from home, you should risk assess the work that you do and implement precautions to minimise the risk of transmission.

A Covid risk assessment is a systematic method of looking at your work activities and considering the potential for transmission. Then, implementing suitable control measures. These measures should eliminate, reduce or control the risks of transmission to employees and others.

The Construction Leadership Council (CLC) has recently issued Version 7 of the Site Operating Procedures. Your Covid 19 risk assessments should be based on these procedures if you are undertaking construction activities.

In addition, The CLC have also updated their poster on what to do if a worker has Covid 19 or has to self-isolate https://builduk.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/What-To-Do-If-A-Worker-Has-COVID-19-Or-Has-To-Self-Isolate.pdf
