Work-equipment regulations are in place to ensure that employers check that all equipment, used within the working environment, is regularly inspected, maintained and in a fit state or good working order. Portable Appliance Testing (P.A.T.) on all electrical equipment as a way of complying with the Regulations.
It is not only construction sites where PAT is recognised as good practice. Office equipment including computers, fans, heaters and even toasters (if used at work) should be tested in accordance with guidance published by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE). Those in control of premises, under Section 4 of ‘The Health & Safety at Work Act’, have a duty to ensure that they do not endanger those who work with them.
M.E.L. can undertake PAT testing, at your request, using the latest equipment operated by experienced operatives. A label will be fixed to the assessed item displaying the test date. A written report will be issued (listing the equipment tested together with the results).

110v Site Equipment – Every 3 months
240v Office Equipment – Annually
