SSIP

(Chas, Acclaim, Construction Line & Achillies)

SSIP (Safety Schemes in Procurement) is the mutual recognition scheme for occupational health and safety standards in the UK.

There are a number of safety schemes across the UK construction industry, so it’s important to make sure any accreditation you undertake is a SSIP member.

SSIP aims to reduce health and safety assessment costs and bureaucracy for the whole supply chain across the construction industry. Great news for small construction businesses who are often hit with significant costs and paperwork as part of pre-qualification processes.

Suppliers who have successfully completed a health and safety assessment with an SSIP member scheme can display the official supplier logo on their marketing materials. Recognised suppliers are also added to the SSIP Portal.  This recognition can highlight you as a trustworthy supplier and has become a vital part of the tender process for construction projects.

Our health and safety consultants are experienced in all major health and safety assessments, including Acclaim, Achilles, CHAS and Construction Line.

The application process can be daunting, so our SSIP service supports you at every stage, from completing pre-qualification questionnaires to reviewing evidence for your application and providing guidance to help you pass. Your dedicated consultant will provide as much or as little support as you need.

We regularly assist with implementing health and safety policies, procedures and documentation that, once embedded into your organisation, can be used to demonstrate compliance with relevant health and safety legislation required for the SSIP qualification.
